Ronald Craig Bedford

November 5, 1953 — December 28, 2021

Ronald Craig Bedford, age 68 of Miamisburg, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. He was born on November 5, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Ronald and Pauline Bedford. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Libecap.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Barbara Bedford nee Smith; two children, Tandrah (Jason) Hoefler and Zachary Craig (Rachael) Bedford; five grandchildren, Hayley Roney, James (Bre) Roney, Owen Hoefler, Jaxon Bedford, and AJ Holliday; mother-in-law, Julia Smith; sister, Janet (Larry) Hohenbrink; three brothers-in-law, Jeffrey Smith, Ronnie Smith, and Jerry Libecap. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was a proud Miamisburg native and a 1972 graduate of Miamisburg High School where he made many lifelong friends. Ron married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Barbara Sue Smith, on June 8, 1972. He loved providing a wonderful life for her, their two children and several grandchildren. He was the proud owner of Bedford's Chimney Service, where he spent 41 years as a Certified Master Chimney Sweep. Ron was known and loved throughout the Greater Dayton area for being honest, fair and the best at what he did. He took great pride in being able to serve his community as well as provide for his loved ones with his family owned and operated business.

Ron cherished his wife and family deeply, and spent his life creating memories with them any opportunity he could. Ron and Barb were looking forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in 2022. Ron enjoyed watching football, fishing, taking drives to the mountains, Indian Lake, being in nature, and marveling at the beauty of the earth. His greatest joy and peace was found within his home, where he succeeded in being the best husband, father, grandfather and role model anyone could possibly be. He adored his wife and family just as much as they adored him. He is immensely loved and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the chance to know him.

The family hopes those who would like to honor him will find a quiet time to remember who he was in your life and be thankful for the time you had together. In lieu of a public funeral service, individual families are encouraged to have their own private memorial at this time. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Ron's memory to the American Heart Association.
