Rolland A. Clemons, age 95 of Miamisburg, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Friendship Village, Trotwood. He was born August 21, 1923 in Jackson, Kentucky to the late Chester and Eller (Doyl) Clemons.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Josephine A. (Buchiere) Clemons; siblings, Myrtle Creech, Mabel Newman and Martha Ward.
Rolland is survived by his children, Rolland Frank (Julie) Clemons and Ronda Cavel; grandchildren, Alison Buckner, Sarah Clemons, Jackson Clemons, Dean (Gina) Cavel and Andy Cavel,; great grandchildren; siblings, Marjorie Templeton, Betty Hubble, Lula Bellamy, Tammy Faulkner, Irene Slusser and Butch Clemons as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Ron was a proud veteran having honorably served in the US Army during WWII as a Private First Class. After the service he became self-employed as a salesman of various wears throughout many states. He eventually established Star City Striping, a successful company that served the greater Miamisburg community for 20+ years. Ron may also be remembered for the Donut Shop in Franklin and his lawn mower repair business, Shady Tree. After retirement he focused on enjoying life, friendships and keeping busy with cooking, sewing and jig-saw puzzles. Ron was a member of the VFW Post 165 in Miamisburg. He will always be remembered for his kindness, goodwill, positive spirit and humor.
Family will receive guests from 10:00-11:30 am Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek. Service will immediately follow at 11:30 officiated by Pastor Jerry Siler. Burial will take place at Dayton National Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton at 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420.
