Rolanda Y. Mattison-Pruitt, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, age 44, of Miamisburg, departed this life on October 5, 2022.

Rolanda Yevette Mattison-Pruitt was born on August 31, 1978, in Dayton, Ohio to Patricia Mattison and Randall Mattison. God called Rolanda his faithful servant home on October 5, 2022 at the age of forty-four.

At the age of nine, Rolanda accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church. Later in her adulthood, she joined Shiloh Baptist Church and she accompanied her husband to Phillips Temple Church.

Rolanda attended Fairport Middle School and graduated from Meadowdale High School in 1996. Rolanda attended Wright State University where she was studying to become a pediatrician because of her love for children. In September 1999 she was diagnosed with Lupus and Renal Failure. Over the next 25 years Rolanda lived her best life. She worked for Synchrony (formally GE), WPAFB, and the City of Dayton. She proved she was "more than a conqueror" after receiving three kidney transplants with one of her kidneys being donated by her father Randall through a Paired Kidney Exchange program.

In 2010, she married her devoted husband Walter L. Pruitt and immediately embraced her bonus son's Christian and Joshua Pruitt.

Rolanda is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Richard Motley and Racine Phillips-Motley.

She is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Walter L Pruitt, bonus sons Christian and Joshua Pruitt; parents, Patricia Mattison (Louis Thompson), Dayton, OH; Randall Mattison, Dayton, OH; brother, Dylon Mattison Atlanta, Ga.; one step-brother Kenny Thompson, one step-sister Leslie Thompson, Mother in law , Margaret Pruitt, Dayton, OH, special sisters-n-law, Cheryl Robertson, Dayton, OH:, Tajuana Campbell, Dayton, OH; paternal grandmother Rilla Mattison; Paternal Aunt Denise Jenkins, Dayton, OH; Maternal Uncle, Alfred Jenkins, Atlanta, GA.; Great Aunt, Gwen (Jaynard) Clinkscales Dayton, OH; Great Uncles Rickey Phillips (Sherry) and Walter Phillips (Freida) Atlanta, GA; special aunt Robin Barnhill and Carolyn Watson. Special cousins Diane Foreman, Debbie Yancey, Monica George-Smith, Stephanie George, Trina Wynn, Tawana Phillips, and a host of cousins. Special friends Anikka Masey, Kia Wilson, Kristal Corbitt, Ikeda Evans, LaShonda Leak, Marleta Carter, RaNisha Kelly-Pitts, Tisea Martin. Many more countless friends to name locally, statewide and across the world.

The Celebration of her Life will be held on Monday October 24, 2022 at 11:00am at Phillips Temple Church, 3620 Shiloh Springs Rd., Trotwood, Ohio. Senior Pastor James E. Washington, Eulogist.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Final resting place will be at VA National Cemetery. The repass will be held at the Unity Banquet Center 505 Bolander Ave., Dayton, Ohio, for immediate Family and close friends only. Arrangements entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home.
