Roger Wray

Roger Wray, 80 of Dayton passed away on May 26, 2022 at Kettering Hospital. He was born on October 10, 1941 in West Carrollton, Ohio the son of the late Frank and Helen Wray. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Mickey Wray and two grandchildren, Langley Durham and Trisha Barker.

Roger is survived by his wife, Jenny; six children, Zac Wray (Brittany), Tamra Barker, Trisa Wray (Tim Howell), Terri Piergies (Ed), Cindy Scanlon, and Kim Hentrich; nine grandchildren, Tiffany Barker, Kyle Durham, Brett Reasoner, Brittany Reasoner, James Wray, Nathan Wray, Skyler Wray, Graham Wray, and Gillian Wray; six great-grandchildren, Taylor Walker, Oliver Wray, Nikia Barker, Kaden Rusinko, Brianna Reasoner, and Janson Will; two brothers, Robert Wray (Sonya) and Woody Brackney. Roger is also survived by numerous family and friends.

He was a devoted Christian, and graduated from West Carrollton High School. Roger enjoyed playing Euchre, fishing, and his family. He was honest, funny (always laughed at himself), and a devoted husband. The most important thing to Roger was his family, especially his wife Jenny for 49 years. Roger is well loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home-South Chapel located at 3940 Kettering Boulevard, Kettering, Ohio 45439. The funeral service will be officiated following visitation at 12:00 pm. Roger's final resting place will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in New Carlisle, Ohio. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Roger's life following the burial service from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Fairhaven Church Fellowship Hall, 637 E. Whipp Rd. Centerville, OH 45459. Food can be dropped off beginning at 2:00 pm.
