Roger Frank Solimando, Jr., age 83 of Bellbrook, passed away suddenly on April 16, 2017. He was born in Utica, NY to the late Roger Frank Solimando, Sr. and Barbara Solimando. After graduating from Proctor High School in 1952, Roger went on to proudly and honorably serve in the United States Army. He met and married Geraldine Topa in 1960 and they went on to spend many happy years together.
Roger retired from civil service with the United States Air Force as supply technician after 30 years of service. He had a passion for reading and traveling. He and Geraldine traveled all over the county and world together. Roger was a long time member of St. Francis of Assisi, Loyal Order of the Moose #1645, and American Legion Post 1376. Roger was a kind and compassionate man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Senatro Solimando.
Roger leaves behind to cherish his memory, loving wife of 57 years, Geraldine Solimando; brother-in-law, Edward Topa; and many other loving relatives and friends.
A memorial mass will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, mass times pending.
Burial to be held the following Monday at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered at the cemetery.
