Roger Dean "Hoggie" Shrader, age 72, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away on November 23, 2022. He was born in Berwind, West Virginia, on November 5, 1950, the son of the late Alfred and Mossie Shrader.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Shrader; his parents; and his siblings, James Shrader, Elizabeth Allen and Judy Huff.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Anna Shrader; his daughters, Viva (Marty Laxton) Shrader and Terri (Chuck) Keller; grandchildren, Ashley (John) Parsley, Dillan (Nicole Gebers) Cates, Elli (Jacob) Heitkamp, Eli, Emma and Evan Keller, Lizzie Swanson and Lillie Heitkamp; great grandchildren, Kaliegh, Jaxson, Alysia, Leelah, Ottis, John Jr., Jace, Kyra and Charles; siblings, Wendy (Vernon) Rockwell and Maidria Rodeheffer; and many other loving family and friends.
He served his country proudly by serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Roger retired from Minster Machine. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the USWA for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cards, hunting, word search puzzles and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Roger on Sunday, December 4, 2022, from 12:00pm-4:00pm, at the Fort Recovery VFW Post 6515, 112 OH-119, Fort Recovery, OH 45846.
Visitation will be held from 9:30am-11:00am, on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
