Roger L. Cornelison, age 72, of Dayton, OH, formerly of Hamilton, OH, passed away peacefully at the Ohio's Hospice of Dayton on Saturday, March 5, 2022. He was born in Cincinnati, OH, to the late Cleve and Dorothy Cornelison. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David Brahm and his father-in-law to be, Bobby Gene "Bobo" Lynch.
Roger was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Sphinx during the Vietnam War. He spent his working career in the printing industry. He enjoyed listening to all types of music. Roger and his wife began going to concerts together soon after they met in 2010. He liked watching crime and historical documentaries and cooking competitions. He would chuckle and grin watching his wife watch internet videos of dogs and blurting out loud "What'a good boy!" Roger leaves behind many who will never be the same without him here. He is survived by his still smitten wife of 9 years, Tonya Lynch Cornelison; adoring younger sister, Robin Cornelison Brahm; step-son, Dallas Aaron Lynch; niece, Jennifer M. Brahm; and brother-in-law, Aaron Lynch (Trisha Fausel). Having been a faithful friend of Bill W. for the last 13 years, Roger met a lot of remarkable folks who made a lasting impact on his life. Some of these introductions with these folks led to new friendship-some to new ideas. There are too many of these great people to count. To attempt to list them would be folly. They may have been as simple as telling him their story over coffee. Some would be as pivotal as meeting a new roommate who would become a lifelong good buddy. Roger was a student of life. He always continued to grow and learn. Roger's wife quotes him as saying: "I never met a cup of coffee I couldn't drink. A newcomer I couldn't see myself in. And an old-timer that I couldn't learn something from".
Roger no longer trudges that road. He is walking, back straight and pain free.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 2-3pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, OH 45424. The memorial service will follow at 3pm.
