Roger Gibson

GIBSON, Roger, age 81, a longtime resident of Miamisburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at his home. He was born on February 11, 1941 in Hillsboro, Ohio to the late William and Rvena Gibson. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Jane "Janie" Gibson and five siblings, Thirza, Dolly, Ellen, Loraine, and Donald.

Roger is survived by his three children, Tammy (Bill) Kolokowski, Hank (Cyndi) Gibson, and Jamie (Larry) Gibson; four grandchildren, Brittany, Jake (Melissa), Megan, and Travis (Tiffany); brother, Frank (Sherry) Gibson; seven great-grandchildren with one on the way; and loving dog and best friend, Buckwheat. He is also survived by numerous family and friends.

Roger was dedicated to his faith and read his Bible daily. He worked for 35 years at John P. Raisch as a heavy machine operator. After retiring, he drove his wife crazy. Roger came out of retirement and worked at Walmart for 15 years. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and loved to work in the yard especially his garden and flower beds. Roger maintained a great sense of humor while learning to be self-sufficient after Mary's passing. The most important thing to Roger was his family, he loved them all deeply.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on January 3, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home- South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439). Funeral Service will be officiated by Pastor Todd Velte at 11:00 am following the visitation. Roger will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Cemetery (723 Upper Miamisburg Rd. Miamisburg, OH 45342).
