Roger W. Cantrell, Sr., age 70 of Dayton, OH, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at The Hospice of Dayton. He was born June 23, 1947 in Overton County, Tenn. He battled cancer for 6 years, he was a fighter. Roger will be greatly missed. He graduated from Northridge H.S. in 1965.
Roger and his loving wife of 51 years were married on May 28, 1966. He worked as fork life driver for James River Corp for over 25 years. He loved to bowl and was in the Tuesday Express and Sunday night mixed leagues at Marian Lanes. Roger enjoyed golfing and fishing.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
Roger is preceded in death by his mother and father, Anna Lee and Willard Cantrell; brother, Keith Cantrell and granddaughter, Kennedy Cantrell.
He had 4 kids, Roger (Rebecca) Cantrell of Xenia, Kevin (Heather) Cantrell of New Lebanon, Justin Cantrell of Arcanum and Melissa Cantrell Brockman of South Carolina; 9 grandchildren, Stephanie Howes of Cinn., Reba Stokes of South Carolina, Kaleb Cantrell of Xenia and Jake Meyer of Franklin, Austin Bella Scarlett and Violet of New Lebanon and Mackenzie from Arcanum; 1 great-granddaughter, Swayzi Buchanan from South Carolina; 2 brothers, Terry and Janice Cantrell from West Milton and Garry Cantrell from Texas; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 21, 2018 at Marian Lanes, 6170 Brandt Pike, Huber Heights, OH in the Insiders from 6:00 pm to 8:00 PM.
