Rodney Arthur Mason

April 20, 1944 — November 20, 2021

Rodney Arthur Mason, born on April 20, 1944 in Springfield, MA. He was the only child and raised in Longmeadow, MA. He was raised by his parents Louis Arthur Mason and Evelyn Victoria (Madison) Mason, and his grandparents Edward and Matilda Madison. Rodney enjoyed being a car mechanic for 20 years and took over the family clock repair business when his father passed in 1973. Rodney took pride in his business, The Clock Doctor. Over the years, he had shops in Longmeadow, Westfield and Indian Orchard, MA.

Rodney loved classic cars, especially fast ones. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with friends, cookouts, country music, rides out in the mountains, trains, and most of all being with his family. Rodney had a very sarcastic sense of humor, he was crass at times, but had a very big heart and would do anything for his friends and family. He was very proud of his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

Rodney re-located to Dayton 18 years ago to be with his family. He lived in Kettering for most of those years. His heart always longed for New England and that is where he will be laid to rest.

Rodney is survived by his only child, Darlene G. (Mason) Bell and her husband, David; his three grandchildren, Bonnie Skinner, Brian Skinner Jr., and Stephen Skinner; his three great-grandchildren, Jacob Parker, Isabel Snider, and Scarlet Skinner.

There will be a small family service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
