Rodney Alan Harris, age 57 unexpectedly passed away peacefully in Dayton, Ohio, surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023. Born August 6th, 1965 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Sherry and Kelly Harris.
Rodney was a devoted husband, father, brother and proud Paw Paw. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Tammy; his son Blake (Jaime), and grandson Maverick; Brothers, Roger (Sue); Ryan (Priscilla); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his beloved dogs, Gigi & Sassafras.
Rodney was a diehard Houston Astros fan, that never missed a game. On game days, he typically could be found in his favorite recliner, yelling, "Go ball!" He was also an avid fisherman, and was always looking for the perfect fishing hole. In addition, he found joy in working with people, and co-workers referred to him as one of the hardest working men they've ever met.
Rodney was a friend to all, often offering to help people in need. He had a way of changing people's perspectives and attitudes through his optimism, leadership, and humor. He could walk into a room and change the atmosphere with a smile and a different perspective on life. He touched many lives, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 5th, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm.
