ALLISON, Rodger D. age 75 of Kettering passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at his daughter's residence. Rodger was born January 24, 1943 in Dayton to the late John G. and Alice L. Allison.
In addition to his parents, Rodger was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy (Hampton) Allison; brothers, Robert "Bob", John "Roy", William "Bill" and Clarence "Tubby" Allison; sisters, Mary Mescher, Barbara Allison and Carol Brush and son-in-law, Michael Fritz.
Rodger is survived by his daughters, Michelle L. Fritz, Teresa L. Kuns and Patricia A. (Stephen) Newman II; Grandchildren, Michele Fritz, Brandon (Whitney) Fritz, Cassie (David) Adkins, Stephen (Chanda) Newman III, and Savannah (Nick Melton) Newman; great granchildren, Garrett, Maddie and Devon; sister, Helen Crigler; in-laws, Neva Allison, Dottie Allison, Calla Allison, Edgar Mescher; a close friend, Collin Huston; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
Rodger enjoyed frequenting the slots at our local casinos, driving the back-roads and picking antiques and collectibles along the way. He enjoyed cooking, baking, and making candy. He spent as much time as possible with his favorite people, his grandchildren and family. He loved to relax by watching his favorite westerns such as Gun Smoke and Bonanza. He also enjoyed fishing. Rodger was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, West Milton.
Rodger was employed for 11 years in property maintenance for Salem Woods Apartments before retiring. He had also worked for Metro Tool and Die and Coca Cola.
Family will receive friends for a memorial gathering from 1:00 - 3:00 pm Monday, April 2, 2018 at Newcomer South Chapel, Kettering. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00 pm also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton at 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton OH 45420.
