On Monday, January 29, 2024 Roderick Oral Gebhardt, passed on to heaven at the age of 74 years old, peacefully at home surrounded by family in Xenia, Ohio. Born on May 1, 1949 to Oral Charles and Dona Jane (Werhan) Gebhardt in Cincinnati, Ohio. Graduated from Milford High School and served the US Navy 1968-1972, a Vietnam Veteran.
A self taught master of machinery and carpentry, Rod loved taking the corvette on long drives or the occasional drag race and built beautiful wooden furniture, even designing and building onto the beloved family home originally built by his father in Milford. Rod made great friendships everywhere he went. He did not know a stranger and would always show up when help was needed. Rod loved nature, hard work, a well kept home, a good crossword puzzle and a great cup of coffee. But most of all, he had a heart for God and loved his family dearly.
Rod is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Robin Jean Gebhardt (Lykins). Dedicated father of Erin Rene Gebhardt, Justin Bradley (Heather) Gebhardt, Rebecca Lyn Gebhardt and Jonathon Dale (Morgan) Gebhardt. Proud grandfather of Christa Muhr and expected baby boy Gebhardt arriving in June. Brother of Becky (Dan) Miller, James (Betty) Gebhardt, Donald (Lisa) Gebhardt and preceded by Paul (Kathy) Gebhardt.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and funeral service on Tuesday February 6th at 11:00 AM at Xenia Nazarene Church.
