Roberta Martin-James

Roberta James, age 89, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.

Roberta was born on January 2, 1932 in McMinnville, TN.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Oscar Bill Martin, Sr. and Jimmy James; sons, Oscar Bill Martin, Jr. and James Martin; daughter, Roberta Lynn Martin; grandchildren, James Martin, Sharon Lynn Cooper and Toni Ladon Beckham; brother, Butler Smith; sister, Georgie Smith.

Roberta is survived by her daughters, Sharon Martin, Ann Martin, Martha Taylor and Wanda Martin; sons, Mike Martin and Drew Martin; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Clark Smith; and many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 2-3pm at the Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. A celebration of life will follow at 3pm.

Roberta will be laid to rest at West Memory Gardens at a later date.
