Roberta "Bert" K. Tigner

Roberta "Bert" Kay Tigner left this worldly home on August 13, 2024. She was born August 28, 1954 to William Emmett Wright Jr. and Rita Brown Wright.

Roberta leaves to mourn her passing two children, Jeff (Megan) Tigner of Riverside, and Laura (Brian) Smith of Kettering; four grandchildren, Calleigh and Brianna Tigner and Lucas and Juliana Smith; six siblings, Ruth Ann Wilcox, Robert (Bernita) Wright, Dean (Naomi) Wright, Verna Walker, Ray (Ila) Wright, and Janet (Rod) Slisher as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Roberta was raised on the family farm in Pennsville and later moved to the Dayton area. She called Huber Heights home for almost 50 years.

For the past few years, Roberta was an active member of the Huber Heights Senior Center where she especially loved bingo, and the Pennsville School Alumni. She loved crocheting and taking pictures of anyone and anything if she thought it would bring a smile to someone’s face. When she had lots of reasons to quit, she persevered through years of pain and anguish due to her many health issues. She often said it was her goal to make at least one person smile every day. She never met a stranger and made it a purpose to thank every veteran she met for their service.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, OH from 5pm to 7pm and at Miller-Huck Funeral Home, 62 South 7th Street, McConnelsville, OH on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 11am to 1pm with the funeral service at 1pm with Dan Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Pennsville Cemetery.
