WARD, ROBERT "Bill" ELDON
88 of Centerville, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2004 at Bethany Lutheran Village. Robert was born May 13, 1916 in Bowling Green, OH, the son of Orville and Flora Ward. He served our country in the United States Navy from 1939 to 1948. Robert also served in the CCC and WPA. He was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivor's Association, American Legion, and the VFW. Robert was also an active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Fremont, OH. He retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio serving 36 years as a Welder/Pipe Fitter. Robert also volunteered at Fremont Memorial Hospital with their Meals on Wheels Program. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Thelma Ward (nee Watson); children, David Ward of Cleveland Heights, OH and Cynthia (Glen) Sharon of Dayton, OH; brothers, Richard, William, and John Ward; grandchildren, Kristen and Michael Sharon; and a host of nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard Ward; and sisters, Helen Davenport, Geraldine Garrett, and Mary Miller. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 15, 2004 at Bethany Lutheran Village Auditorium, Centerville, OH. Family will receive friends 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family in Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, OH.
