VAN HOUSE, Robert M., 87, of Washington Twp., passed away May 3, 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Pearl Van House; sister, Hazel and 2 brothers, Weyman and Wendell. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Berniece; daughter, Linda Leer and her husband Stuart; sons, Robert L. and his wife Jean, David and his wife Roberta and Paul and his wife Becky. Robert is also survived by his grandchildren, Eric, Sharon, Patrick, Angela and Daniel Van House and Christopher Leer. Robert was a research engineer for General Motors for almost 40 years, where he worked on the first anti-lock brake system and pioneered many innovations in automotive chassis technology. He was a veteran serving in the US Navy. Robert loved woodworking, making cross-bows, hunting and fishing. He was a very devoted family man and will be greatly missed by his family. Memorial services will be held 1:00PM Saturday, May 8, 2004 at Newcomer Farley Funeral Home 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 12:00noon until time of services. Robert's nephews, Rev. Kendall Cowing and Dr. Robert W. Van House will be officiating with inurnment at Heritage Hills Memory Gardens.
