Robert Vernon Taylor went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Born November 23, 1939, to Arthur and Ethel Taylor in Greenville, SC.
He worked at GH&R Foundry and did construction work at Souders.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ethel Taylor; siblings, James Taylor, Mabel Miller, Pauline Dawkins, Willie Taylor, Barbara Ann Pollack, Joe Taylor, and Lorene Taylor; and grandson, Robert Stroud.
He is survived by his children, Ashley, Robert Jr., Shaina, and Bri'Ona Taylor; sisters, Virginia Wanamaker, Elizabeth Dunham-Rice; brothers, Ralph and Gerold Taylor; grandchildren, David Taylor and Tariq Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Robert "R.V." Taylor loved to work in his garden, loved the blues, and loved to dance. He always loved to laugh and loved to make you laugh. And, if he thought you were ready for it, he would share some of his wisdom with you.
"R.V" had swag. He was always sharply dressed from head to toe. "R.V." opened his home to be a lively, friendly neighborhood gathering spot for his family and friends. He was not concerned about others opinions about his life decisions or opinions on any mistakes he had made. His hope for all who knew and loved him would be that you live your life that same way.
Friends may call from 4-5 PM Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, OH 45424 where the funeral service will begin at 5 PM with Pastor Mark Hunt Officiating.
