Robert Traylor, Jr., age 70 of Covington, passed away surrounded by his family on November 22, 2018. Robert was born in Dayton on January 7, 1948 to proud parents Robert Traylor, Sr. and Louise Collins. He attended Stebbins High School. After completing his education, Robert enlisted in the United States Navy. He faithfully and honorably served his country until his discharge in 1969. After his service, Robert worked for Delco/GM for many years until his retirement.
Robert married Gloria McGuffin in 1969. The two have shared 49 loving years together. He enjoyed riding his Harley in his free time and Robert and Gloria loved to sail on Buck Creek and Indian Lake. He was a fan of NASCAR. Above all, Robert loved to spend time with his family and doting on his grandchildren. He was a loving, caring, and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Collins; step-mother, Barbara Traylor; and brother, Mike Traylor.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory, wife of 49 years, Gloria Traylor; father, Robert Traylor, Sr.; children, Shane (Deena) Traylor and Carrie (Rob Cron) Traylor-Adams; grandchildren, Haley (AJ Ouellette) Adams, Drew Traylor, Kelsey Traylor, and Autumn Reboulet; sister, Patsy (Tony) Borchers; brothers, Butch (Rosie) Wellbaum, Bill (Rose) Shain, and Dan (Cheryl) Traylor; sisters-in-law, Angel (John) Fox and Pat Thress; brother-in-law, Miles (Kathy) McGuffin; and many loved nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
A visitation will be held at Newcomer - North Chapel on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 6pm - 8pm. Funeral service the following day, Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial and Naval honors to follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
