Robert "Bobby" Sutphin was born on January 11, 1960 in Dayton, Ohio to Robert and Mary Jane (Tuffy) Sutphin. He passed away unexpectedly on December 31st, 2011.
Bobby is survived by two sisters, Joan Austin and Carol Perrine (Stanley); 1 daughter, Stephanie Sutphin; 1 son, Robert Sutphin; nieces, Susan (Jason) Gilbert, Lauralee (Tim) Petree, and Molly Arrowood; nephew, Bradley (Tara) Arrowood; great nieces, Jordan Arrowood, Annabelle Gray, and Elizabeth Petree; special brother-in-law, Bradley Arrowood; his children's mother, Tena Patterson; great aunt, Barbara Smead; his little friend, Lilly, as well as numerous cousins, friends, and loved ones.
He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mary Jane Sutphin; grandparents, John and Mary Tuffy and Edward and Nellie Sutphin; special cousin, David Hanshaw and numerous other cousins, family, and friends.
Bobby went to Belmont High School. He loved sports, specifically basketball and softball. In his younger years and into adulthood, he played in several adult basketball, baseball, and softball teams throughout his life. Later on, he gave up his playing shoes and coached his children, nieces, and nephews, with whom he was very close.
Bobby was known for his witty personality, fun loving nature, and great sense of humor. He had a wonderful smile and always had a sparkle in his eyes. He wore several different hats throughout his working career, including an electrician, bar owner, meat cutter, and machinist, which characterizes Bobby's diverse interests and skills. He was special, loved by so many people, and will be missed dearly.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd.
Father Patrick Tonry officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
