Robert "Pat" Sturgeon passed away quietly with his best friend (and wife of 55 years) Bonnie by his side.

His parents, Walter S. Sturgeon and Dorothy Gilmore Sturgeon both preceded him in death.

He leaves behind his 3 sons and daughter-in-laws, Shane and Janelle (Meyer) Sturgeon, Dr. Ryan and Ravina (Talati) Sturgeon and Jason and Stephanie (Smith) Sturgeon. He was also proud "Opa" to 9 grandchildren, Kyle and fiancée Alex, Ben, Caroline, Jaimin, Rohan, Avi, Annabelle, Walter and Aster.

While in the Air Force, he was a navigator in the C141 and weapons system operator in the F4. He was proud to serve on the rescue mission of the Apollo 13 space crew. He returned to civilian life in 1976. During his time after the Air Force he got to spend much needed time with his family. His joys were his boys, gardening, camping with family, driving his Miata and playing pickleball.

A celebration of Pat's life will be held at John Bryan State Park (3790 OH-370, Yellow Springs, OH 45387) at the Day Lodge on Friday August 9th, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. The United States Air Force will be holding a flag folding ceremony at 3:00 pm to pay tribute to his brave and honorable service to our country.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the family to be used to purchase and plant a Willow tree in Pat's memory.
