Robert "Bob" James Sorosiak, 79, of Centerville, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, October 25, 2018.
Bob was born on December 28, 1938 and grew up in a Polish neighborhood in Toledo, OH. One of his favorite childhood memories was living next door to Menke's Bakery and enjoying their banana cupcakes.
He had a lifelong passion for woodworking, creating and designing, and working the intricacies of mechanics as an Engineer and Project Manager. His passions led to his depth of involvement with NASA and the Student Space Shuttle Program at North Carolina A&T State University. His expert work propelled students' projects into space on the Endeavour Space Shuttle.
In his later years, he adored and cherished his Grandfather role as a Polish Dzia Dzia to his precious, darling Grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his Parents, Frank and Hattie Sorosiak; Sister, Mary Ogradowski; and Brother, Jack Sorosiak.
He is survived by his Loving Wife of nearly 39 years, Valerie; Children, Rebecca (Aaron) Steelman, and sons, Conrad and Henrik; Eric (Jessica) Sorosiak, and son, Cayden, and daughter, Brynn; Jessica (Chuck) Dryer, and daughters, Maddy, Livy, Avery, and son, Parker; Sister, Sue (Bruce) Gawecki; Sister-in-law, Carole Sorosiak; Brother-in-law, Leo Ogradowski; as well as loved family members from his past.
Friends and family are invited to a Visitation that will be held Monday, October 29, 2018, 3:30 to 5:30 pm at Newcomer South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering 45439).
A brief Memorial Service will follow at 5:30 pm.
