SMITH, Robert W., 81 of Dayton passed away Thursday December 1, 2005 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born April 23, 1924 the son of Harry & Garnet Colmer Smith at Guysville, Athens County Ohio. He attended Shade High School until he was inducted into the army in January 1943, but graduated class of '43. Bob was a corporal with 239th Combat Engineers and was discharged in 1946. He was a life time member of American Legion Post #21, Athens, Ohio, belonged to Masons Lodge #426New Marshfield, Ohio, and a member of V.F.W Post #3283 Huber Heights, Ohio. He was employed by and retired from Ernst Ready Mix in April 1990.He is preceded in death by his wife Ada Smith; daughter Helen Green; and brothers Blaine, Franklin, and Emerson. Robert is survived by his son Robert L. Smith & daughter-in-law Paula; grandchildren Laura Morelock & husband Kelly, Nick Green & wife Tammy, and Danny Green & wife Raygena; great grandchildren Spencer Morelock, Dusty and Taylor Marie Green, and Chris; sisters Nellie, Betty, Marie, and Sue; and many other family and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. David Joffe and the staff and nurses at Heartland of Centerville. Services will be held 1:30PM Wednesday December 7, 2005 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30PM Wednesday December 7, 2005 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Dayton Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.NewcomerFamily.com.
