Robert W. Sims

SIMS, Robert (Bob) W., age 89, of Dayton, OH passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 23, 2020. Bob was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 28, 1930, the son of George and Rachel (Short) Sims along with his three siblings Mary Aileen Hall, Barbara Anglin and Helen Davis who preceded him in death.

Bob was married to his loving devoted wife Mary (Carr) for 68 years.

Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and contributed 38 years of service as an aircraft mechanic and supervisor at the 4950th Test Wing Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary; three children, Steven (Nancy) Sims, Nancy Sims-Cox, William (Laura) Sims. Bob had seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and loved being surrounded by his family. He was a true friend, mentor, devoted husband, and an honorable man full of kindness to all those he met.

A private graveside service at Sabina Cemetery in Sabina, Ohio will be held at a future date.
