Robert H. Shepherd

Robert H. "Bob" Shepherd, age 89 of Beavercreek, OH went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at the Landings of Huber Heights. He was born March 19, 1931 in Douglas Township, Iowa to Archie and Ruth Shepherd. Robert married Arlene Cahhal on October 31, 1953 in Griswold, Iowa.

Robert served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1972 after more than 20 years. After retirement, he moved his family to Ohio and worked in Civil Service at Wright Patterson Air Force Base; he started in PMEL and retired as an Aircraft Electrician. He enjoyed greeting people at the Sugarcreek Wal-Mart. Robert was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Temple of Dayton and enjoyed playing the harmonica and dulcimer. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

Robert is survived by his wife of 66 years, Arlene; a daughter, Glenda (Tom) Day; two sons, Rob (Debra) Shepherd Jr. and Richard (Lisa) Shepherd; fourteen grandchildren, Tom, Melanie (Jeff), Stephanie, Valerie, Rob (Lauren), Rebekah (Kevin), Christopher, Christian, Kyle, Jacob, Kira, Bailee, Kai and Ania; seven great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Lily, Thibodaux, Adalida, Evangeline, Skylar and Amelia; a brother, Lloyd; and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers and sisters.

Private services are being held on Thursday, April 16, 2020. Memorial service to be held at a later date.
