Samborsky, Robert John "Sam" or "RJ" age 82, of Riverside, Ohio passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020. He was born in St. Charles, Virginia on September 29, 1938 to the late John K. and Ruby G. Samborsky (nee Branam).
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Harry Samborsky and Jean Samborsky-Hodgins; and son-in-law, David Miller.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Betty Jean Samborsky (nee Kistner); daughters, Katharine "Kathy" Miller and Janet L. (Bradley) Eib; grandchildren, Jeremy (Amanda May) Miller, Justin Miller, Morgan Eib, and Brooke Eib; great-grandchildren, Dakoda Bodiker and Jaxson Miller; siblings, Eddie Ray "Sonny" (Judy) Samborsky, Virgil (Pat) Samborsky, and Virginia "Fay" (Stuart Lewis) Samborsky; and host of other family members and friends.
Robert graduated in 1957 from St. Charles High School and joined the United States Air Force right after graduation in August. He honorably served until June 1963. Robert worked as a truck driver and RTA bus driver. In 2003, he became a member of the Mason Beavercreek Lodge #753 and was a current member of First Brethren Church in West Alexandria.
Robert was an avid golfer, football fan (especially Cleveland Browns), attending to his tomato garden, and fishing.
In loving memory of Robert, contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Services will be held privately with the family. Robert will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery.
The State of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face mask will be worn in all public places.
