Henry, Robert R. Sr. "Bob", age 82, of Dayton, was reunited with his wife Alice on Monday, February 2, 2009. Bob was born July 1, 1926 in Laconia, New Hampshire to the late Fred & Lucinda (Hamel) Henry. Bob was a United States Navy Veteran proudly serving in WWII as a Seaman First Class. He worked at the Citizen Newspaper in Laconia, New Hampshire and worked for Standard Register and retired from the Dayton Daily News in Dayton, Ohio. He was a parishoner at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Kettering for over 50 years and recently was attending St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dayton.
Bob is survived by his daughters and son-in-law: Marie, Jean & Anne Henry, Claire (Guenter) Schuster; son and daughter-in-law: Robert Jr. (Antonieta) Henry; grandchildren: Jessica Schuster Maina (Masha), Daniel Schuster, Stephen Mumford, great granddaughter: Ava Maina; and niece: Jeannete "Jean" (Larry) Stinson. Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife: Alice in 2004; brothers: Oscar, Eddie, and Pete Henry; and sister: Dorothy Twombly.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 411 E. 2nd St., Dayton, Father Louis Osterhage Celebrant. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Interment will be held privately at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Mass intentions may be offered in memory of Bob and family.
