Robert R. Bennett, age 87, of Washington Twp., Ohio, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014.
He was born on May 12, 1927 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania to the late Harry A. & Mildred E. Bennett.
Robert was also preceded in death by his brother, Elmer G. Bennett.
He is survived by his siblings, Alex (Alice) Bennett of Dayton, Ohio, Harry (Kathy) Bennett, of Bellbrook, Ohio, Verla Anderson of Pearland, Texas, Jean McCormick, of Daytona Beach, Florida, Mildred Forrest of Millsboro, Delaware, Vivian (George) Forrest, of Haverhill, Massachusetts; and sister-in-law, Carol Bennett, Huntsburg, Ohio.
Robert served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during WWII abroad the USS Terror (a mine layer). He was Vice President and General Manager of Moler's Dairy Food Company, Past President of the Miami Valley Dairy Council, Past President of Ohio Dairy Products, Past President of Dayton Food Trade Association, President and owner of Odd Jobs, INC, a lifetime member of St. Johns Lodge and member of the Scottish Rite, Antioch Shrine.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 2-4 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will follow at 4pm. Robert will be interred at Dayton National Cemetery at a later date.
