Robert L. Nonnenman Jr., a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, peacefully departed this life on April 20, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on September 4, 1947, Robert lived a life defined by his kindness and dedication to others. He was a content and kind person, known for his selflessness and generosity; always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
His family was of utmost importance to him, and he exemplified this by consistently making time for his loved ones amidst the many demands of life. He instilled a sense of togetherness and love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A steadfast and punctual individual, Robert often worried a little too much, always striving to ensure everything was in order for those around him.
Robert proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army, a testament to his courage and commitment. He enjoyed various hobbies and interests during his lifetime, which included being an avid collector of baseball cards and coins. Sports brought him much joy, and he would eagerly watch any game available on television. In his younger years, he was also a keen bowler, celebrated for winning a tournament ring, a treasure he cherished deeply.
He is survived by his son, Steven Nonnenman (Angela Palitto); his brother, Dale Nonnenman; and his cherished grandchildren, Kailey Nonnenman and Kayla Weller. Robert was preceded in death by his loving parents, Dixie and Robert L. Nonnenman Sr., as well as his granddaughter, Chanel Nonnenman.
A visitation will be held from 9:00am to 10:00am on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, with his service starting at 10:00am. Following the service, Robert will be laid to rest at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Robert L. Nonnenman Jr. will be remembered fondly for his generosity, love for family, and the countless lives he touched through his unwavering kindness. His legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know him.
