"Big Mike"
Age 56, of New Carlisle, passed away Friday, January 30, 2009, at his home. Mike was born July 23, 1952 in Dayton to Robert & Zelma Johnson, who preceded him in death. Mike is survived by his wife, Jessica I. (Gilchrist); three sons, Michael J. Griffin, Mitchell A. & his wife, Cara Johnson and James Michael; one sister, Sharon St. Pierre; his in-laws, Gloria & Kenneth Gilchrist; brothers-in-law, Ronald Gilchrist and Robert Hannahs; sister-in-law, Jenna Gilchrist; two nieces, Gabby Florry, Emily Athena and Savannah Lynn; nephew, Christian Arron; and by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.. Mike as a U. S. Marine Corps veteran and a member of Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church. He attended many Sturgis Motorcycle Rallies and enjoyed working on motorcycles. He believed in God, love, family, Harleys and Classic cars and lived life to the fullest. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday (2/5) at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday (2/6) at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Dayton National Cemetery with military honors.
