Robert W. Longnecker, Sr.
August 27, 1922 — August 4, 2019
On Sunday, August 4, 2019, Robert William Longnecker, widowed husband and father of two children, Grandfather of 4 and Great Grandfather of two passed away at age 96.
Bob was born on August 27th, 1922 in Eaton, OH to Earl and Gladys (Kenworthy) Longnecker.
He was a Graduate of Fairview High School in Dayton, OH in 1941 and Miami Jacobs.
In August 7th,1942 Bob enlisted in the USAAF at Patterson Field Ohio as CPL and served 3 years in Europe.
On May 19th,1951 he married Bettymae Beatrice Brelsford. Both attended Belmont United Methodist Church and were tents of the Dayton chapters of Scottish Rite Freemasonry and Order of the Eastern Star. Bob and Bettymae were married for 47 years until her passing in 1998.
He is survived by his two children, Bettylou Sullivan and Robert Longnecker II. Grandchildren Joey and Josh Huber, Rebekah Dell' Aria and Spencer Longnecker. Two Great Grandchildren Mary and Alyssa Dell' Aria. His sister Margaret Ann Ruel and her sons Tod and David.
A Celebration of Bob's life will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 4:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel. Visitation from 2-4:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
