Robert Lee "Rob" Covert

Robert Lee "Rob" Covert, age 70, of Kettering, passed away on August 31, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, on January 19, 1954, the son of the late William and Amba Covert. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving son, Robert William Covert; and his brother, Herbert Covert. 

Rob is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Laura Covert; children, Mitchell (Keri) Covert, Scott (the late Missy) Bennett, Stacey (Michael) Goldie and Stephanie (Deanna) Wilson; grandchildren, Kerigan Covert, Isaac (Erin) Bennett, Faith Bennett, Brayden Bennett, Gracie Bennett and Reese Goldie; and great granddaughter, Daisy Bennett; siblings, Tony Covert, Janet Howard and Lisa (Jim) Collins; brothers-in-law, Dennis (Bonnie) McKeever, Rick (Pam) McKeever, Keith (Joy) McKeever and Nelson (Sharon) McKeever; dear friend, Barry & Londie Mays; and many other loving family and friends. 

He served his country proudly by serving in the United States Marine Corps. for nearly 7 years. Rob retired from Enterprise Roofing. Rob lived life to the fullest. In his free time, he enjoyed dancing (he was lovingly known as "Happy Feet"), listening to country music, Elvis, Zydeco music and the Bee Gees. He also enjoyed cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, the Fairmont Firebirds football and basketball teams (which is where his grandchildren played) and watching NASCAR. He enjoyed home improvement projects and refinishing furniture later in life. He loved to learn new things and would always tackle a new project head on. Rob had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where a Celebration of his Life will begin at 12:00pm, with Pastor Chad Keck officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Corwin Cemetery, Waynesville.
