Robert Lawson

Lawson, Robert R., age 79, of Vandalia, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 after a lengthy illness. He was born May 23, 1929 in Myers, KY, the son of Mike & Mattie Lawson. Robert served with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and served in Germany from 1954-1956 with the Second Armored Division. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ronnie & Woody Lawson. Suvivors include his wife, Charlotte (Mitchell) Lawson; sons, Keith Lawson and Tim (Linda) Lawson; mother of his grandchildren, Ruth Lawson; grandchildren, Brian (April) Lawson, Erin Lawson, & Sean Lawson; great grandson, Evan; sister, MaryLou Alexander; and his brother, Bill Lawson. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH, with Pastor Josh Cougle officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of services.
