Robert L. Lackey, Sr. 85, of Dayton departed this life on August 9th 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents Lucille and Terry (Ted) Lackey, sister Marian Jean Milkereit, daughter Vickie Day, grandchildren Tommy and Johnny Blakeman, Rachel Kacynski.
Survived by his special partner Mary Mcclay and his children Lucille (Leonard) Kacynski, Robert (Irene) Lackey, Jr., Tammy (Jeff) Barton, Shelly (Dave) Dixon and Gail Vlahos. He is survived by his siblings Mary Lou (William) Kidd and James (Marlene) Lackey, Terry (Ann) Lackey. He had many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He had a passion for fast, sporty cars which his favorite was the corvette. He entered car races at KilKare and won many trophies. He collected old watches, coins and clocks. He also liked vacationing in the Smokey Mountains where he took his family. He was a very successful entrepreneur. He owned many businesses including his TV and furniture stores for almost 40 years. Later in years he loved bird watching, old TV shows and enjoyed his visits with his family. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held from 12-1:30pm on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, where funeral services will begin at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery.
