Robert L. "Bob" Simms
Age 88, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2006, at his home.

Bob was born January 25, 1918 in South Lebanon, Ohio to Rev. L. V. & Laurabell (Aspinall) Simms.

Bob is survived by his wife of the past 58 years, Wilma L. (McClure) Simms; two sons, Jeff Simms of Dayton and Roger Simms of Houston, Texas; and by two Goddaughters, Melanie Johnson and Shirley Spencer.

Bob has been a member of Grace United Methodist Church for the past 47 years where he and Wilma taught Children's Sunday School for 39 of those years. He also had served as Sunday School Superintendent and lay leader and was a member of the Homebuilders Sunday School class for the past 27 years. He attended Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated from University of Cincinnati. Bob retired as a Senior Systems Analyst with Monsanto Corp. During WW II he served his country in the U. S. Army where he served in the South Pacific.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at Grace United Methodist Church, 1001 Harvard Blvd at Salem Avenue, Dayton. Pastors Marla Brown and Paul Stuckey will officiate.

In lieu of flowers the family would prefer that contributions be made in memory of Bob to Hospice of Dayton or the Memorial Fund at Grace United Methodist Church.
