Robert E. Kerr, age 86, of Germantown, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023. He was born May 15, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late James Emmett and Ollie Ruth (Pfersching) Kerr.

Robert was a well educated man: he was a graduate of Manual High School where he played the drums, and went on to attend Western University in Bowling Green, KY. Robert then proudly earned his Masters degree from Indiana University, and also attended the University of Cincinnati.

He started his career with the Health Dept. in Madison, Indiana, and went on to work at Frigidaire/GM/Harrison Radiator retiring after 30 years of service.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his son Randy Sellars, son-in-law Scott Jackson, grandchild Cassidy Stapleton, and great-grandchild Rylee Sellars.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Joann V. (Newton) Kerr; his brother Stuart (Judy) Kerr; and his sister Carole (Butch) Whiteman. Robert is also survived by his children: Robin Hecht, Robin Stinson, Annette Sellars Jackson, Elizabeth Duff, David Sellars and Michelle Teegarden; 15 grandchildren: Michael Hecht, Nicholas Hecht, Christine Geiger, Catherine Hecht, Kirstin Stapleton, Randy Lee Sellars, Bradley Sellars, Tiffany Reynolds, Miranda Gill, Taylor Woosley, Josh McClaskey, Danielle Sellars, Trevor Sellars, Quinton Webb, Colton Abner and Treven Teegarden; 24 great-grandchildren: Jacob Hecht, Brooklyn Rohr, Emberlynn Hecht, Delilah Hecht, Hayley Back, Ayden Elkins, Davin Nevergold, Sophia Sellars, Raedyn Fraley, Alexis Sellars, Madison Sellars, Wyatt Sellars, Dakota Reynolds, Delaney Evans, Destiny Evans, Dominic Evans, Kade Gill, Kennedy Gill, Brayden McClaskey, Violet Sellars, Forrest Sellars, Aveline Sellars, Halle Sellars and Leeylon Webb, along with 2 great-great-grandchildren Avery Starner and Weston Starner.

Robert had many interests throughout his life. He was a serious animal lover which included monkeys, wolves, flying squirrels among many others. He enjoyed "piddling around" and handcrafted many gifts for his family over the years. In his free time he enjoyed playing cards, and board games such as Scrabble and Aggravation on his handmade board. Robert loved being on his farm and spending time with his family whom he loved so deeply. He will always be remembered as a wonderful man with a dry sense of humor who was devoted to his family. Robert was a well loved man and will be greatly missed.
