Robert "Bob" K. Staton, age 86, of Dayton, passed away at Miami Valley Hospital, Friday, February 10, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his wife the love of his life of 60 years, Gwendolyn Staton; son, Robert C. Staton; grandson, Andrew Staton; siblings, Norman Staton, Christine Manning, William Staton, and Lowell Staton.
Bob is survived by his children, Connie (Tom) Dano, SueAnne Staton-Moore, Peggy (Jimmie) Miller, Dorothy Dressler, and Tracy (Jodi) Staton; grandchildren, Barbara (Mike) Cook, Jennifer (Rob) Peirson, Jason Staton, Stephen (April) Milton, Jeffrey Moore, Christine (Gary) Johnson, Robbie (April) Staton, and Samantha Staton; great-grandchildren, Trey Peirson, Briana and Brandon Milton, Christine and David Cook, Xander Johnson, MacKenzie Staton; sisters-in-law, Ethel Staton, of Sitka, Alaska and Bette Staton, of Lebanon, Ohio; and many other close friends and church family. Bob honorably served in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
He retired from NCR after 32 years in Plant Security. Bob enjoyed many hobbies such as gardening, cooking, and DIY projects. Above everything, Bob was a loving family man who will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 13, 2012 from 12:30-1:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will follow at 1:30 pm. Burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery.
