Robert Michael Johnson, age 43 of New Carlisle, passed away January 26, 2021. He was born August 28, 1977 in Xenia, Ohio. Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Rhoads; maternal grandparents: Robert and Frances Johnson; uncles: Robert D. Johnson and Benjamin R. Johnson; aunt, Roxanne M. Johnson; great-grandmothers: Minerva Johnson and Ella Smith.
Robert is survived by his mother, Rebecca Johnson; brother, Richard E. Winkler, III; nephews: Gabriel and Noah Winkler; uncles: Michael Johnson (Charlotte) and Keith Johnson (Mary); aunt, Christine Terranova (Tony); uncle, Steve Johnson (Melanie); step-father, Richard E. Winkler, Jr. (Constance); and a host cousins and lifelong friends.
Robert was a 1996 graduate of Tecumseh High School, where he earned his electrician degree. On September 1, 2017 Robert graduated from Hobart Institute of Welding, and began a career as a welder. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping and riding his motorcycle. He was an expert campfire builder and loved nature. Robert enjoyed online gaming and played with people from all over the world.
Private services will be held for the family with Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road. He will be laid to rest with his family at Bellbrook Cemetery.
Robert's family would like to extend a very special thank you to Bill and Janell Zimmerman and Tammy Disinger for their love, care and support during the last 3 years; and also to the staff at Hospice of Dayton.
