Robert Jackson

Robert O. Jackson, age 54 of Dayton, passed away July 1, 2012. He was born October 9, 1957 in Dayton to the late Charles Jackson and Mabel Tankersley, who survives. In addition to his father, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Jackson.

Bob is survived by his mother; children: Shannon Jackson, Matthew Jackson and Bryan Jackson; mother of his children, Sharon Jackson; granddaughter, Kenzie; 5 sisters: Vicki (Dave) Yukon, Kathy (Dick) Moore, Debbie (David) Combs, Patti Warner and Yvonne (Brian) Scott; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Also left to mourn his loss is his black lab, Dusty.

Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an avid gardener, fisherman and Harley enthusiast.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 12:30 – 1:30 pm. Pastor Mark McVey officiating. Burial and military honors to follow at Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Newcomer Funeral Home to help the family with final expenses.
