Robert J. Sexton
Age 74, of Huber Heights, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Grandview Hospital.
Bob is survived by his wife, caregiver and best friend, Connie Sexton; their two children, Robert L. Sexton and Terri L. Sexton; dear friend and "adopted daughter", Lisa Kennedy; one sister, Virginia & her husband, Earl Nuechterlein; one nephew, Marc & his wife, Mary Catherine Nuechterlein; one niece, Sue & her husband, Michael Livadas and their daughter, Melina Livadas; two aunts, Katherine Clark and Ruth Sexton; sister-in-law, Shirley Moore; and by extended family and many good friends.
Bob was a graduate of Northridge High School, Wittenberg University and Antioch College. During the Korean Conflict he served in Japan in the U. S. Army. He retired as a teacher from the Dayton Board of Education with 30 years of service, with the majority of his service being at Wilbur Wright High School. He taught Science and coached football & track. He worked with his father at Sexton's Upholstery Shop. After his father passed he took over operation of the shop but retired after his health prevented him from continuing. Bob was a donor recipient and was a donor himself following his death. His wish would be for everyone to be a donor. Bob loved life and family. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially going on fishing trips with his family and friends.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
If friends desire, contributions may be made in memory of Bob to the Dayton Community Tissue Bank. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
