IRONS, Robert W. Sr., age 93, of Fairborn, passed away following a short illness Saturday, August 28, 2010.
Robert was born July 18, 1917 in Columbus Ohio to the late Frank and Minnie Irons. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Robert was also preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Leimbeck and great grandson, Liam Irons. He is survived by his wife, Louise Irons; children, Karen (Ron) Gooch, of Royal Oak, MI, Robert (Susan) Irons Jr., of Waynesville, OH and Richard (Debbie) Irons, of Clyde, NC; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack Irons, of Fairborn, OH and James (June) V. Irons, of Reston, VA; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 4, 2010 from 9:30-10:30 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432). The memorial service will follow at time 10:30 AM. Burial will be at Byron Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Miami Valley (46 N, Detroit St, Suite B, Xenia, OH 45385).
