Robert W. Heizer

Robert Wayne Heizer passed away November 7, 2021 at home with his family by his side. He was born at Pomeroyton, Kentucky in 1935 and has lived in this area for the past 84 years. He was the son of Albert and Gertrude (Trimble) Heizer. He had two children, Robin and David. Bob was married to Janet Gail (Hall) Heizer on November 13, 1954 at Blue Ball Presbyterian Church and was six days short of 67 years of marriage. Bob was retired from AK Steel after 37 1/2 years. He was a foreman in the slab mill department. Bob was in the Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force in the Berlin Crisis. Bob played softball and basketball in Armco department league. He liked bowling, hunting, fishing, watching sports on T.V., especially the Reds and Bengals. His Ham Radio was his joy.

He was a member of Blue Ball Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder and on various committees. He is a member of Monroe United Methodist Church and served on the building committee. He was a member of Middletown Jefferson Lodge #90, Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton and Lebanon Eastern Star #342. Bob was in Kairos prison ministries for several years and men's bible study. He loved traveling and camping with his family and he always tried to make it a learning experience for his children. Bob was a member of Catawba Point Association in Port Clinton, OH. He loved spending time there, especially fishing for Walleye and evening boat rides enjoying the beautiful sunsets and wildlife. Bob loved playing pretend Grandpa to his fur baby, Sweet Pea. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Gertrude Heizer; father and mother-in-law, Chester and Earlene (Ratliff) Hall; brothers Fred, Jesse, Everett, Zollie and Albert; sisters, Hazel and Vivan and his son, David. Bob was a very loving husband, father and will be greatly missed.
