Robert Hammond Jr.
November 5, 1927 — February 27, 2021
Robert Hammond, age 93 of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 27, 2021. He was born November 5, 1927 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Robert & Zella (Caudill) Hammond.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Thelma Hammond; and siblings, Wanda Brown, Pauline Wiltshire, Catherine Harmon and Linden Hammond.
Robert is survived by his three daughters, Cathy (Mike) Glander, Connie (Marion) Hageman, and Rosie (Sam) Stevens; son, Tim (Sue) Hammond; ten grandchildren, Missy, Erin, Mieke, Jonathan, Abigail, Emily, Amanda, Brienne, Zac and Aaron. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was devoted to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and his family. He enjoyed gospel music, working with his hands, tinkering with cars and fishing at the lake in TN. Robert was very active in his church, he was a people person and he enjoyed life.
Family would like to extend a special thank you to Social Row Transitional Care and Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassion.
A Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to12:00 pm on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Moraine City First Church of God, 5867 N Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH 45449. Funeral Service will be officiated by Sam Stevens and Zac Dixon at 12 pm.
If desired, floral donations or memorial contributions may be made in Robert's memory to Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care.
