Robert Neal Haines, 79 years old, passed away January 2, 2017. Bob was born August 9, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio. He was the son of Robert Irvin and Jeanette Susan Knarr Haines. Bob was a 1955 graduate of Northridge High School and was still great friends with many classmates. He worked at the drawing tables of several companies in Dayton and Springfield, Ohio and San Diego, CA. He was a proud Army veteran where he served our country at a drafting table at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas. Bob preferred listening to classical music but also enjoyed blues, jazz and honky tonk. He was an avid hockey fan especially back in the days of the Dayton Gems. Bob loved any and all water, canoeing, swimming and diving, earning him the nickname "Froglegs" by his daughters. One of Bob's favorite places was his garage where he would fix things, make things and just tinker. Bob was slow to anger, never held a grudge and was patient, especially with his wife. Bob was the epitome of the word "gentleman". He is very much loved.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Marcia; two daughters, Katie (Roger) Grembowski and Sarah (Brian) Denny; 4 grandsons, Tony, Jon, Geoff and Greg. He is survived by our "adopted" daughter, Niki (Jeff) Thomas and our "adopted" granddaughters, Cassie and Katie. Bob is also survived by brothers, Lani, Bill (Kay), John (Karen) and Gerald; many nephews and nieces; great nephews and great nieces; 2 great great-nieces and some wonderful and caring friends.
