Robert "Butch" Daniel Haines, age 71 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at his home. He was born July 4, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio, son of Daniel and Gloria Haines.
In addition to his parents, Butch is preceded in death by his sister, Connie Weser and first wife, Sally Haines.
Robert is survived by his children, Tonya (Jason) Murray, Gloria (Joe) Brunson, Matthew (Angela) Haines and Nathan (Brandy) Haines; grandchildren; Catherine Baty, Drake Jones, Monica Jones, Ashley Plemons, Elizabeth Brunson, Mariah Haines, Daniel Haines, Devon Shepherd, Connor McNutt, Brittany McNutt, Mark McNutt and Kaitlyn McNutt; siblings, Art (Nadine) Haines and Hope Boling and second wife, Linda Haines as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Butch was a graduate of West Carrollton High School. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he honorably served during the Vietnam War. Butch was employed at American Honda in Troy, OH where he later retired. He loved horses, was a skilled carpenter, enjoyed motorcycles and hunting in his spare time. Butch will always be remembered for his sense of humor and ability to make people smile.
Family will received guests for a memorial gathering from 2:00 -5:00 pm Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home – Kettering. A private burial of cremated remains will take place at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery on a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of Great Dayton at 1661 Nicholas Rd., Dayton, OH 45417.
