Robert H. Harris

HARRIS, Robert H. age 87 of Dayton, passed away Friday, April 4, 2008 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Anna Harris, his parents Howard and Margaret Harris, step sisters Helen Cavan and Eleanor Breen and sister-in-law Libby Wells. He is survived by his children Carol and husband Robert Battson, Jerry and wife Paula Harris, Jean Cody, Larry Harris, Phil and wife Tammy Harris; grandchildren Doug Battson, Brian and wife Betty Ann Battson, Denise and husband Toby Burkett, Karen and husband Rob Eager, Adam and wife Stephanie Harris, Grant Harris, Nick Harris, Katie and husband Donald Farris, Stephen and wife Angel Wiles and Jadia Harris; great grandchildren Libby, Justin and Faith, Thomas and Drake, Ethan, Ayden and Gavin; step sister Dorothy Moore; sister-in-law Theresa Falter; brother-in-law Charles Eppensteiner; special friend Frances Sortman; and a host of other relatives and friends. Robert served our country in the US Army Air Corp during WW II. He was a member for over 50 years of Holy Family Parish. As a member of the parish, he served on the bereavement committee, he was in charge of the Holy Family's participation in the St Helen's festival and the Jubilee Club. He also sang in the Holy Family choir for 50 years. He was active in Knights of Columbus 500 Treasurer 1987 to present. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Holy Family Catholic Church 140 So. Findlay Street, with Fr. John Krumm Celebrant. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am until time of mass. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel in care of arrangements.
