Robert E. Gau

Robert Eugene Gau, age 83, of Dayton peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on October 11, 2024. He was born in Dayton on October 1, 1941 to the late Jacob and Rosemary Gau. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Ida Gau; brothers, Kenneth Gau, Jacob Gau, Donnie Gau; sister, Vicky Gau; son-in-law, David Wright and his beloved dog, Gizzy.

He is survived by his children, Laura (Jerry Sanner) Gau, Hershel Gau, Roger (Beth) Gau, Tammy Gau; grandchildren, Courtney Deeter, Cameron Deeter, Dakota Gau, Austin Gau, Dameon Gau, Tylor Gau, Devon Gau, David Wright II; great-children, Ariyonna James, Kiyren Deeter, Keelan Deeter, Legend Addison and siblings, Charles (Linda) Gau, George Gau and Debbie (Thomas) Schiely; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Robert was employed at Duellman Electric for 32 years and retired in 1995. He was a wonderful father and grandfather as well as a devout Christian. He enjoyed going to concerts, spending time with his dog, Gizzy and listening to country and gospel music. Robert will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Newcomer Kettering, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Service will begin a 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Joe Getts to officiate.
