Robert "Bob" Fleckenstein, age 83, of Fairborn, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Helen Fleckenstein and sister, Elizabeth Brown. Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Fleckenstein; children, Terri and husband, Mike Collins, Joe and wife, Kelli Fleckenstein, and Karen and husband, Tom Richardson; grandchildren, Frankie Green, Andrea and husband, Jeff Burns, and Bryan Fleckenstein; brother, Bill and wife, Nancy Fleckenstein; sisters-in-law, Janet Spang and Gail Bush; as well as several nieces and nephews. Bob was a 1947 graduate of Chaminade High School and he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was also the owner of Overhead Door Company of Springfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Mary Help of Christians, 954 N. Maple Ave., Fairborn. Family will receive friends from 9:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dayton Children's Hospital.
