Robert E. Hefner
Age 76, of Laura, went home to be with the Lord Friday, August 13, 2010. Robert was born August 12, 1934 in Frankford, West Virginia to the late Charles and Mary Hefner.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Patty Hefner.
Robert is survived by his wife, Mary Hefner; children, Mike (Cindy) Hefner, Kathy (David) Wallace and Mark (Greg Motsch) Hefner; grandchildren, Chandra, Tansey, Tawney and Shira Hefner, Charla (Mark) Whitehead, Kayla, Kyle and Kole Wallace; brother, Chuck (Lucille) Hefner; sisters, Betty (Rhel) Cook, Hilda Cockerham and Dessie (Carlton) Cockerham; and many other relatives and friends.
Robert was a loving husband, devoted dad and an awesome grandpa who loved and served his Lord Jesus Christ. Robert served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He retired as chief engineer of the VA Medical Center. Robert was a talented writer, and enjoyed writing poetry.
He was a member of Laura Christian Church (1 S. Main St., Laura, OH 45337), where a memorial service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 2:30 pm.
The family would like to thank Robert's chemotherapy nurse, Stacy, for her special care.
