Robert Christian Doebler, Jr. age 75 of Riverside, Ohio; Bob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, from Lewy Body Dementia on December 17, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Geraldine Hupp Doebler and Robert Doebler, Sr.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia Moore Doebler, his devoted son Christopher, wife Julia and their son, Alister, a blessing in our lives. He is survived by 7 siblings and their families. Also survived by a large extended family of loved ones.
Bob grew up in Kettering, attended Fairmont High School then joined the Air Force. He served in Bitberg, Germany as a firefighter assigned to drive a crash rescue truck. After discharge, he worked as a baker at Doebler's Bakery, his family's business. He then became a toolmaker and worked at several local shops, was hired at Frigidaire Moraine, ending his career at G.M. Truck and Bus from 1981 – 2001.
He was a kind, gentle man, who loved his family, always. He loved classic cars, music, Nascar and Indy Racing. He was a prankster who loved good jokes. After retirement, he enjoyed making custom knives. His love of life was evident and his hugs, laughter and smiles will forever be missed.
A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel. Bob's family will greet friends from 12-1:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens in Xenia, Ohio.
